Intern and/or Co-op Student
We have been involved in the Cooperative Education programs at Georgia Institute of Technology and Southern Polytechnic University for over 25 years. An important objective at GBT is to help undergraduate students correlate scholastics with work related problems in the field of Civil Engineering. Students are challenged to think independently and to work successfully within a group or with a specific engineer or project manager. The “hands on” opportunity we provide allows the student to experience the real world of civil and environmental engineering and make better decisions about his/her course of study in pursuing an engineering degree.

Daily tasks assigned will be dependent upon individual capability and can involve completing engineer’s revisions to plans, calculating system hydraulics, preparing preliminary layouts for water and wastewater systems and other project specific work. Interested students can apply for employment directly to our firm or through the Internship or Cooperative Education department.

Benefits for Intern or Co-op Students include paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and participation in profit sharing.

Environmental engineering involves pollution control of air, water and  waste disposal to protect the health and safety of the public.

G. Ben Turnipseed Engineers provides a full range of civil engineering services helping communities and municipalities build and maintain their infrastructures. We specialize in water and sewerage system improvements while providing additional engineering services to support planned growth and development within the community.
Hydraulic engineering involves the flow of fluids, specifically surface water and groundwater. G. Ben Turnipseed Engineers performs modeling of both water and sewer flows; provides modeling and analysis for reservoir systems, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, storm water management and various other water resource modeling using WaterGEMS, H20Net, SWMM or similar software.
Engineering students and graduates will find a challenging opportunity working directly with project engineers while fulfilling the requirements of their co-operative or internship education programs.
